The Widow walks only in the moonlight
When you listen closely, you hear her cry to moon
Because it is the only creation as lonely as the Widow herself
No one knows how long she’s been there,
haunting the moors and the Old Forest.
But the old tales tell of a woman in black,
in search of her husband
who left for war centuries ago.
And though she waited, and waited…
He never came back.
The tales tell she was once a young woman of great beauty
Now, she uses her beauty to lure men into their death
So the women would mourn their husbands
Like she has mourned hers for centuries…
Every full moon, she appears by the old oak tree
She waits there all night
Because by the old oak tree
Is where she and her love said goodbye
But if you dare to disturb her peace
She will show you that the years have not been kind to her
She will show you her Darkness
And she will sing you to an eternal slumber
I was so glad to learn our backyard can turn into this magical, eerie forest when necessary. Of course, I have many miles to go when it comes to editing and retouching photos, but I think we’re on the right track. Not to mention how I improve with each set. I’d definitely want to do more like this, but as I mentioned before: At least for now, my resources are limited.
