The second day, first night after the first Pubcrawl, I skipped the hostel breakfast for some sleep, since I returned at around 3AM. I grabbed A for my first ever restaurant breakfast at the Pog, literally next door to Abbey Court Hostel in Bachelors Walk. We shared an avocado toast and protein pancakes. I could’ve gone for seconds. Five times.
The interior was nice and fresh. It was a little small, but I’d say good for not too crowded breakfast, as we had. I loved the lamps and I definitely want to use something like that in my future home/room. The prices weren’t too bad either, but unfortunately, the exact numbers have slipped my mind… I’d say both dishes were around 5€, which suits the backpacker budget as well 😉
Because of the pig I am, I ate this baby with my hands. It was a bit messy, maybe because I’m a pig, or maybe because avocado has its own will, but it was good, and totally worth it. I do have to recreate these someday. But I’m too lazy to do something like this in the morning. Then, I need something quick, but good. This could also go as a movie snack… 😉
Unfortunately according to my companion, the Macha Latte she ordered, wasn’t really a Macha Latte. Before that day, I didn’t even knew that existed. Oh well, the things you learn.
The presentation could’ve been a little better with the pancakes, at least the raspberries, but I understand Nutella only looks appetizing in a full, unopened jar 😉 The pancakes were delicious, but I think that for myself, sharing this with someone was too small of a portion to really get full. So, perhaps if we’d just split the toast and had our own pancakes, it would’ve been excellent. But, it did keep us full until the next place.
I was feeling the need for raspberries, so I also took a raspberry juice, freshly made. It was nice and crispy, perfect for morning to get those tastebuds a kick to wake up 😉 It was a very summery drink, and I could very much see myself drinking this more often. Not like I need an excuse for more berries… I just wish we had more. It always seems, even I collect them for hours, that we run out of them after one or two drinks/smoothies.
Overall, the Pog was a nice new acquaintance, and if I ever get around breakfast to Bachelors Walk, I’d have no problem popping in for some juice and pancakes 😉
